Talented wordsmith and classically trained musician SFZ has released a hard hitting and driving new rap single titled ‘Elevate’.
Intelligent lyricism, effortless flow and some eerie piano sections make for a stunning, intricate rap tune from SFZ. An easy pick as this week’s Sound of the Underground track on Rhythm Radar.
Reminiscent of some of UK Rap’s most talented young stars such as Dave, SFZ’s sound has an authentic and raw quality to it.
A wordsmith telling life how it is, honing in on society and delivering heavy doses of reality. SFZ’s flow is smooth yet sharp; flaming bars delivered by SFZ’s softly gritty voice making for a brilliantly British sound.
Putting out his creativity into the wonderfully diverse world of Hip-Hop, SFZ has already picked up attention from BBC Introducing, generating numerous radio plays and some high praise from publications.
SFZ is the definition of self-sufficient, having recorded and produced the accomplished track ‘Elevate’ solo. If nothing else, this tune evidences this young prodigy’s musical and technical prowess.

But where does a Hip-Hop artist get such talent from? SFZ’s secret, classical piano training.
That’s right, the talented rapper is not only a witty wordsmith, but also a talented pianist and musician.
This distinct trait is woven throughout SFZ’s track Elevate, with its eerily beautiful piano parts, intricate beats and bass-y punches.
Like many great rappers, SFZ’s sound is fuelled by his pain, having battled deep depression for many years. Music is a sense of self-expression and escape for the talented young artist.
“We should be role models for ourselves and for those around us, to be kind and to love.”
Listening to SFZ truly is a must, with an addictive flow and a sterling set of bars, Elevate is one of the best Conscious Hip-Hop tracks we’ve heard this year.
With his debut album planned for 2021 there is no better time to get with the SFZ hype.
