The track is infused with a truly jazzy vibe, curious percussion and some beaming brass sections.
At just 19 years old Skylar Nevaeh is music producer wise beyond her years, her sound oozing a sense of musical wisdom and production perfection.
Leaving The Dark is accompanied by an eclectic set of visuals, re-affirming Skylar’s individualistic and artistic identity.
We asked Skylar Nevaeh a few questions to find out a little more about the track.
Where did you find the inspiration to create ‘Leaving The Dark?
“I find inspiration for my music mainly in jazz, pop, R&B and Lofi music. ‘Leaving The Dark’ is inspired by Jazz music, from for example Gregory Porter and Mario Biondi.
‘Leaving The Dark’ is about an ending of a period of darkness in one’s life. There will be better days ahead. The song has these positive and dark themed vibes combined by the sultry saxophone and the mischievous tuba.”
What can we expect next from you?
“For my upcoming releases I definitely want to make more songs with more lyrics and show my voice more.
However, I will probably still make instrumentals and songs with less vocals. I love making all sorts of songs!”
