Flowing and vibrant, talented singer-songwriter Madison Mueller is our next Sound Of The Underground Artist.
Madison Mueller is an Ontario-based talent, sharing her musical journey with the world since the age of 8, fans have had the pleasure of watching her blossom into an award-winning artist.
Track Exhale is a stunning acoustic single full of some gorgeous runs, sparkling guitars and liberating lyricism. Perhaps the most striking feature of Madison’s music is her intensely emotive and vivid story-telling ability.
Madison’s passion packed lyricism is truly like no other, the definition of a wonderful wordsmith, we knew she had to be our next Sound of the Underground artist.
We caught up with Madison to find out more about her journey so far.
Talk to us about Music, how did you first get started in the industry?
“I’ve been playing music since the age of 6, first starting with the piano, and eventually vocals and guitar! I had always loved performing, but I think my journey really started when I branded myself on a little instagram page around 7 years ago as MaddieMakesMusic.
I began posting my music online, and realised that I really enjoyed sharing what I was creating with others. This quickly led into posting YouTube covers, and when I began writing my own music not long after, that’s when I knew there was no going back.
I have now released 6 singles so far…and even have picked up a few awards along the way! It’s been an amazing journey, and I’m so excited to see where the next years take me!
What inspires & influences your sound?
“I think inspiration for music comes from a lot of places, but mainly for myself it comes from a personal experience of some sort. I like to write about what I’m feeling, and use writing as an outlet to what I’m dealing with a lot of times.
‘Exhale’ was written in two different sections. I originally wrote the verses at a very emotionally low point, and then forgot about the song until I was going through old recordings and was reminded of what I had started.
By this time, months later, I had worked through some of the previous issues, and wrote the chorus with a much better mindset. That story describes the song in a lot of ways, because sometimes you just need to step back from a problem, breath, and look at it from a different perspective to bring yourself out of it. I hope it’s a good reminder to those who listen to it and are at that low point, because it won’t always stay that way!”
What’s next for you and your Music?
“What’s next for me as an artist is a new song! I am currently in the works of getting a new single ready for the world, and I am super excited about it!
I can’t share too much about it quite yet, but I think it’s really going to show who I am as an artist, It feels very me.
I have also been trying to keep live music alive through online shows, which I’m doing more of currently, so if anyone wants to catch those, they’ll be posted about on all of my social media!”
