Prog-rock band Fascination Curve released a new album titled Corona Time in Amerika. During the seven track collection, the album focuses on effects on the American and global political climate and turbulent social times since the beginning of the pandemic of Covid-19.
Led by Karl Lundeberg, frontman and mastermind of Fascination Curve, the album featured a specific distorted sound that fits classically with the progressive rock genre. With powerful messaging and lyrics aimed to change our current world, Karl Lundeberg states “The album comes from a long-standing concern about racism in all its forms, and the fact that the lives of my two mixed race daughters changed the moment Trump was elected. In a time of separation, the band was brought together by social unrest. The album takes on the subjects of Ukraine, Roe vs Wade, racism, and the continuing drift towards Civil War.”
Lundeberg’s politically charged is inspired from his childhood as he was born in Washington DC during the 1968 Civil Rights Riots and raised by parents that were members of the first completely racially integrated church in DC. Lundeberg also takes influence for his lyrics on Corona Time in Amerika from his active social communities and history of protesting during the 2020’s BLM riots. Lundeberg also performed the musical scores for Sir David Hare’s indictment of the Bush adminstration’s involvement in the Iraq War ‘Stuff Happens’, as well as the Jon Robbie Baitz anti-Trump work ‘Vicuna’.
As the mastermind of Fascination Curve, Lundeberg assembled the band full of acclaimed musicians that all have experience working and playing with some of the great names of American musical history. Gregg Bissonette, who has previous history working with Ringo Star is the official drummer of Fascination Curve joined by Marc Bonilla on lead guitar and vocalist Ken Stacey who has previous vocal working history with the likes of Elton John and Michael Jackson. Fascination Curve also features vocalist Amy Keys, bass player Mha Bhatti, saxophonist Tim Ries and Lundeberg himself on piano, composition and arranging.
