Roy Sunak is set to release his new album entitled Tear In The River during December 2022. Featuring original songs that he has composed using his Bansuri, the album is spiritually grounding and is composed of tracks that all have hidden meaningful messages.
Recently Roy has been mainly performing as a solo artist since the success of his previous album. Expressing the act of a journey that touches on different moods, this new album is full of complex and intricate melodies and truly portrays the excellence of Roy’s playing. After listening to the tracks off the album, I can only describe it as a relaxing and spiritual listening experience similar to meditation.
With thought gone into every track on the upcoming album, the stories behind the individual songs are thought provoking. Roy Sunak explains that every song on the Album depicts a story of its own, yet the stories are connected alike the sound of the tracks. Some of the songs are triggered by feelings of heartbreak while others are expressions of learning to let things go and practice a more mindful state.
The biggest message that the album seeks to communicate is the importance of connection. The album musically portrays connection as it uses musicians from different countries such as Korea, Israel, Germany and America who all come from very different cultures. Roy is hoping to place importance on how all beings are connected, including animals and nature and how connection is vital through all forms of life.
